When To Harvest Cannabis

One of the most often asked questions from new medicinal growers is how do they tell when the right time is to harvest their medical cannabis. We will attempt to teach you the answer to that question here.

Depending on your particular medical needs, you will harvest your medicine at different times in their cycle as you can see from the chart below.

To inspect the tricomes to determine the correct harvest time for your medicine, we recommend purchasing a battery powered lighted pocket microscope like the one pictured at right which is available at Radio Shack for around $10 - $15.

	CLEAR TRICOMES When the tricomes look like this, there is not enough potency yet. Harvesting now will decrease yield.
	CLOUDY TRICOMES Harvesting when "most" of the tricomes look "cloudy" or "milky" will give you an "up, head, energetic, rushy" high. This is good for anxiety, depression, migraines, etc. Great anti-inflammatory.
	AMBER TRICOMES Harvesting when "most" of the tricomes look amber in color will give you a narcotic/couchlock high and is good for chronic pain, insomnia, etc.
	50/50 TRICOMES Harvesting when the tricomes are about a mix of 50% cloudy and 50% amber in color will give you a combination of head and body high.
